Non-vegetation weeds
Thesis research, 2017
During my thesis research I searched through the streets "phenomena" that had similar characteristics to the spontaneous vegetation to create parallel connections and decontextualize the vegetation term "weed" into other universes of meaning
What is a weed in the city?
// Something unwanted
// That invades the current order
// That is related to human agency
// Something that cannot be traced who the author is (which immediately eliminates graffiti and tags)
// That even though it disrupts, it can add an aesthetical beauty to the place it inhabits
// Something that is constantly being taken away, the action of weeding out, but it continues to appear (“grows”)
// Something that becomes associated with the place even though is seen as a disruption
// Something that changes, evolves or re-adapts to where it appears
